11/01/2006 | INSP - REINSPECTION | Violation | On 9-24-06, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at 251 South Wilmot. On 10-31-06, a re-inspection was conducted and the following International Fire Code 2003 Violation(s) was noted: 1). In addition, after the fire, it was noticed that all exterior doors, excluding front doors were welded shut at some time in the past. This is in violation of several fire code requirements including the following; 1027.2 Reliability. Required exit accesses, exits or exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency. Security devices affecting means of egress shall be subject to approval of the fire code official. 1027.3 Obstructions. A means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use, including the accumulation of snow and ice. The welding of the doors is an impediment to the full instant use in case of fire or other emergency. These doors shall be repaired by 11-29-06. |
