| 09/28/2006 | INSP - FULL | Violation | On 9-24-06, a fire in the south stairwell of 251 Wilmot was extinguished by The Tucson Fire Department. To gain access the fence surrounding the building had to be cut. This fence must be repaired immediate. In addition, after the fire, it was noticed that all exterior doors, excluding front doors were welded shut at some time in the past. This is in violation of several fire code requirements including the following; 1027.2 Reliability. Required exit accesses, exits or exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency. Security devices affecting means of egress shall be subject to approval of the fire code official. 1027.3 Obstructions. A means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use, including the accumulation of snow and ice. |
