Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. ***Place Exit signs, on over each of these two doors, in an approved manner.
05/22/2006	VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS		Violation	Panic hardware on Exits: 1008.1.9 Panic and fire exit hardware. Where panic and fire exit hardware is installed, it shall comply with the following: 1. The actuating portion of the releasing device shall extend at least one-half of the door leaf width. 2. A maximum unlatching force of 15 pounds (67 N). Each door in a means of egress from an occupancy of Group A or E having an occupant load of 100 or more and any occupancy of Group H-1, H-2, H-3 or H-5 shall not be provided with a latch or lock unless it is panic hardware or fire exit hardware. *1. Install panic hardware on S and N doors leading from patio room to the outside. [no other locks are allowed on these doors]. 2. Remove "Exit" sign from over door leading to patio. [Door "A"] 3. Door "A" may have a keyed lock on it for security, but it must be unlocked during business hours so... 4. Place a sign on or over door stating " These doors shall remain unlocked while building is occupied" 5. Remove lock latch hardware from back door and... *6. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists: [2.2]. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background. * Place above-mentioned sign on or near front door in an approved manner. * Place above-mentioned sign on or near the door leading out to patio [see below for explanation].
