04/25/2006 | VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS | Violation | Front and Back Door: TFC 1008.1.8.3 Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists: [2.2]. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background. *** Place above-mentioned sign on or near front and rear door in an approved manner. TFC 1008.1.8.4 Bolt locks. Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. ***Remove all bolts on doors. Rear security door may have bolt ONLY if door is unlocked while occupied! Wood bar assembly is also prohibited and must be removed. Thumb-latch type lock only on rear interior door. [No double keyed locks]. Re-inspection scheduled for 5/11/06. All abated 5/15/06. Will continue to clear shop of excess piles. |
