Upon the visit I found the fire access road to be between 28-34 feet wide and there was "marked" parking in the required turnaround. On 4-4-06 I generated this letter t othe HOA: Kennedy Park Townhouses HOA C/O Copper Rose Community MGT 6601 E. 22nd St. RE: Fire Lane and Turnaround at 3500 Block of S Mission Dear Sandy Sandoval, The Tucson Fire Department is very concerned about maintaining fire access roads and vehicle turnaround that are required for fire fighting operations. A recent site visit revealed that your access roads are 28-34 feet wide and there is parking provided in the required turnaround. The fire code requires that roads that are 28 feet wide to 36 feet wide be provided with Fire Lane signs on one side of the street. IFC Section D102: ROADS Roads greater than 28 and up to 36 feet in width. Fire apparatus access roads greater than 28 and up to 36 feet wide shall be posted on one side of the road as a fire lane. § Fire lane signs shall be provided every 100 (One hundred feet) along the fire lane) The second issue is that there are cars parking in the turnaround. The turnaround also has "marked parking" spaces. Vehicles are not allowed to park in the turnaround. City of Tucson Development Standard No. 3-01.0 #6.2 C1e states: "Parking will not be allowed along the curb of a cul-de-sac utilizing a pavement turnaround radius of fifty (50) feet or greater. § Remove marked parking spaces and provide Fire Lane signs A re-inspection of the access roads will be done on May 4, 2006.
