08/19/2016 ENGINEERING - FINAL Correction Required WENT OUT TO THE SITE AND CHECKED THE SLOPES ON THE SIDEWALKS THAT RON HAS CALLED INTO QUESTION, THE FOLLOWING ISSUES HAVE BEEN NOTED:
1) I MEASURED AND NOTED THAT THE NEW SIDEWALKS THAT HAVE BEEN POUR EXCEED THE MAXIMUM 2% SLOPES ALLOWED FOR ADA ACCESS INTO THE BUILDING. THE SLOPES IN THE NEW SIDEWALK AREAS VARY FROM 1.5% UPTO OVER 4%, THESE AREAS WILL NEED TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED AS NEEDED. ALSO THE PLANS NEED TO BE MODIFIED TO SHOW ALL OF THE EXTERIOR WORK THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR THIS SITE.
2) THE PAAL HAS BEEN RAISED(EXISTING) IN THE AREA OF THE FRONT ENTRY WAY, IT IS LEVEL WITH THE ADJACENT SIDEWALK ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF THE PAAL. SINCE THERE IS NOT A 6 INCH VERTICAL SEPPERATION BETWEEN THE PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY/REFUGE SOME TYPE OF PROTECTIVE BARRIER NEEDS TO BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT VEHICLES FROM GAINING ACCESS INTO THIS AREA.
3) I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE RAISED ISLAND ALSO IS OUT OF SPEC IN THE AREAS WHERE PEDESTRIANS ARE ANTICIPATED TO UTILIZE. THESE AREA HAVE A RUNNING SLOPE THAT IS APPROXIMATELY 11%, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED TO SEE IT MODIFICATIONS NEED TO BE MADE TO ALLOW FOR EASIER ACCESS. AS NOTED EARLIER THIS IS AN EXISTING CONDITION, BUT SINCE A NEW SURFACE TREATMENT WAS APPLIED I FEEL THAT IT ATLEAST NEEDS TO BE NOTED IN THE COMMENTS.
