| 08/08/2005 | INSP - FULL | Violation | On 8-8-05, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at the west exit of this occupied building. It was found that this exit was obstructed with newspaper carts. The emergency operation, automatic sliding door, is to open this door by pushing open, as red placard instructs on the each side of the door. This required exit was deemed a violation and an order to remove carts was given to Ms. Stoner, at which time carts were removed immediately. Until further notice, the emergency operation of this door was accepted as the normal operation for exiting from this door. 1). The cars and any other exit obstructions is in violation of IFC 1027.3 which states; 1027.3 Obstructions. A means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use…… In addition the following other fire code violations was noticed. 2). Blocked portable fire extinguisher. This fire protection equipment shall always remain unblocked IFC 906.6 3). Ceiling tile above west exit shall be replaced, currently it is missing. IFC 703.1 |
