Wayne,
I'm, forwarding an email that lists the two fire pumps that are out and the standpipes that are out of service. All standpipes that are out of service are clearly marked as such. Please call if you have any questions.
Regards
-Jose

We have two fire pumps that have failed, Main Gate#158 (Main Gate Office Bldg 888 N. Euclid) and Skyboxes#58B (UofA Stadium). The parts have been ordered and Welling Pump will be onsite Wednesday 18May05 to rebuild both pumps.

AME recalled sprinklers are replaced on all floors with exception of 2nd floor North building. Work to start week of 16May05, and finish week of 23May05.

The following dry stand pipes are out of service or in reduced service:
1) Admin #66 Damaged FDC by FD&C project, should be repaired 11May05. Will test 12May05.
2) Harvil#76 North and Center stand pipes tested good. South side blown out. To be repaired 12May05.
3) Modern Lang#67 West side stand pipes passed, East side failed piping. Will start repair week of 16May05.
4) Psy#68 West side underground piping blown out, East side leaks but will work for a fire. Will start repair week of 16May05.
5) Life Sci South#106 Failed piping in concrete wall, but will work in a fire. Will start repair week of 23May05.
6) Civil Eng#72 Two stand pipes passed, South West side pipe failed. Will start repair week of 23May05.
7) Bio West#88 Leaks in the under ground, but will work in a fire. Working on repair plan.
8) Mirror Lab#61M The FDC was run over by a truck. Plumbing shop is working on repairing this right now.

The following dry stand pipes have basic design flaws:
1) Steward Obs#65 North side, East end is supplied by the auto sprinkler FDC. We plan to convert this to a wet stand pipe and add a flow switch and a valve tamper. Thus removing the need to pump up the dry stand pipe prior to adding water pressure to the auto sprinklers as it is currently configured. This will work in a fire.

The following stand pipes have passed hydrostatic testing: (Note: Most of these required repairs.)
1) Engineering#20
2) Econ#23
3) Social Sci#27
4) FCR#33
5) Forbes#36
6) Marvel#37
7) Shantz#38
8) Bio East#43
9) Sci Lib#54
10) Speech#71
11) Architecture#75
12) PAS#81
13) Math#89
14) Space Sci#92
15) Ina Gittings#93
16) Chem Bio#113
17) 6th Street Garage#180
18) Geology#11
19) Mines#12
20) Vet Sci#90
21) CAF#101 (This is a wet system)
22) Nursing#203

Fourteen stand pipe systems remain to be tested.

The FDC on the N.E. Side of the Gould Simpson loading dock has been corrected to face the street instead of the building.

Also, we are starting phase one of the dry stand pipe testing in the S.W. quad of campus.

Phase one will be to pump each system to 50-60psi to wet and let soak all rubber fittings.

Phase two will be to pump each system to 200psi.

Phase two will start after phase one is completed.

Will advise final status of each tested system.
