01/20/2005 | VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS | Violation | 1. TFC: 1008.1.8.3 Lock and latches. All locks on any exit must be able to open without a key or special knowledge. All double dead bolt lock must be removed from all exits. Thumb latched type dead bolt locks can be used in the place of double-keyed locks. Exception: The front main exit may have a double keyed lock, if a sign is above the door that states" this door to remain unlock when building is occupied" 2. TFC: 1008.8.7 Stairway doors. Stairway discharge doors shall be opened from the egress side and shall only be locked from the opposite side. 3. TFC: 1026.17.3. Exit access travel distance. The exit shall be located so that the maximum length of travel, measured from the most remote point along the natural path of egress is not greater than 200'. 2 exit are required for this building, 2 for the 1st story , the 2nd story is within the 200, travel distant, and commond path is within 75' 4. TFC: 1011.1 Required illuminated exit signs. Each required exit must have an illuminated exit sign. (Exception is the front main exit.) Also Access to exit shall be marked by readily visible exit signs. An illuminated exit sign must be place at each end of the main hallway, and at top of stairs for 2nd story exits 5.. TFC 1011.5 Exit sign shall be illuminated at all times. The use of battiery back or emergency power system is requiered in case of power failure. 6. TFC: 1006.3 Emergency illumination for exit access. All access pathways, including he exit discharge must have emergency lighting . 1. Main hallway on 1st story, including front and rear exits 2. Staiway on 2nd story. |
