WE FIRST VISITED OFFICE AT WHICH TIME I WAS INFORMED BY MANAGER DEBBIE BERNARDI THAT THE TENANT WAS SECTION 8, THAT AN INSPECTOR FROM SECTION 8 HAD BEEN OUT TO INSPECT AND FOUND ONLY TWO ITEMS THAT NEENED CORRECTIONS AS COMPARED TO THE MANY I HAD FOUND. I EXPLAINED TO DEBBIE THAT IF THEY WOULD INFORM ME PRIOR TO MAKING THE INSPECTION THAT THE TENANT IS SECTION 8, THEN I WOULD NOT HAVE TO MAKE AN INSPECTION, IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE TURNED OVER TO SECTION 8 FOR THEM TO INSPECT AND MAKE ANY DECISIONS. VISITED TENANT, INFORMED HER THRU TRANSLATOR THAT I HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED THAT SHE WAS SECTION 8, AND BECAUSE SHE IS SECTION 8, HER UNIT WOULD NEED TO BE INSPECTED BY A SECTION 8 INSPECTOR, THAT MY INSPECTION BECOMES VOIDEDDUE TO FACT SHE IS SECTION 8. I INFORMED HER THAT I WOULD BE CLOSING MY CASE. WILL E-MAIL KEN MCDONALD, SECTION 8 HOUSING, AND KICK THIS BACK OVER TO THEM. DNR HAS NO JURISDICTION. CASE CLOSED!! |

| 08/19/2005 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Approved | VISITED SITE, WENT TO OFFICE FIRST, EXPLAINED TO ASSISTANT MANAGER ROSA WHY I WAS THERE.ASKED IF SHE WAS HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH TENANT IN #907, ROSA SAID NO BUT THAT THE TENANT DID COMPLAIN ALOT. ROSA WAS AWARE OF THE COMPLAINT CALLED IN AND OBTAINED ALL MAINTANENCE REQUEST FORMS FOR DNR. VISITED UNIT #907, MET WITH TENANT LOURDES, LOURDES ONLY SPOKE SPANISH. LOURDES MENTIONED THAT SHE HAD A LEAK IN THE CEILING OF HER DAUGHTERS BEDROOM, CARPET AND BED IS WET FROM LEAK AND THE AREA HAD A BAD SMELL FROM THE WATER. LOURDES ALSO MENTIONED THAT A/C WAS NOT WORKING WELL, COULD BARELY FEEL A/C BLOWING FROM REGISTER. AT THIS TIME I ASKED NEIGHBOR ELOISA GOMEZ TO INTERPRETATE FOR ME. EXPLAINED I WOULD BE CONDUCTING A THOROUGH INSPECTION, MY FINDINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS: ELECTRICAL: >UNIT LACKS WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS, CHECK ALL SMOKE DETECTORS. >LIGHT FIXTURE IN DAUGHTERS ROOMNEEDS REPLACING DUE TO MISSING AND LOOSE PARTS. INTERIOR FEATURES: FRONT DOOR SAGGING, CAN SEE DAYLIGHT, MAY NEED WEATHER STRIPPING AT TOP. >LIVING ROOM CLOSET DOOR SAGGING, RUBS AGAINST CARPET, DOOR NEEDS TO BE CUT. >LIVINGROOM WINDOW HAS NO LOCKING MECHANISM. >CLEAN LINT AND DIRT AREA SURROUNDING A/C UNIT. RE-SECUREMETAL BARRIER ABOVE THE FILTER, AND REPLACE FILTER. >CEILING IN SOUTH BEDROOM IS SAGGING DUE TO ROOF LEAK, NEEDS DRYWALL, TAPE AND TEXTURE.REMOVE POPCORN CEILING, SECURE DRYWALL, OR REMOVE AND REPLACE DRYWALL. CEILING MAY NEED TO BE CUT TO AIR OUT CEILING AND INSULATION. RE-TAPE,TEXTURE AND PAINT. >CLEAN CARPET IN SOUTH BEDROOM. CHECK ALL CARPET. >WOOD FLOORING IN SOUTH BEDROOM BATH IS VER SPONGY. FIRST REPLACE PLYWOOD, AND REPLACE LINOLEUM FLOORING. >NORTH BEDROOM (FRONT ROOM), LACKS A DOOR KNOB. >NORTH BEDROOM CLOSET DOOR RUBBING ON CARPET, ALSO LACKS DOOR PULLS.(KNOBS) PLUMBING: >RECAULK TUB AT BASE OF TILE/ TOP OF TUB. >CAULK ALL TUB EDGES. >SOUTH BEDROOM: REPLACE TOILET PARTS, OR REMOVE AND REPLACE TOILET. TOILET TAKES A LONG TIME TO REFILL. >NORTH BATH TOILET, REPLACE TOILET PARTS/ INCORRECT SIZE OR TYPE. TAKES WATER A LONG TIME TO REFILL. >RECAULK NORTH TUB. >CLEAN LINT FROM NORTH BATH, BATH FAN. |
