MIN HOUSING VIOLATIONS FOUND ARE AS FOLLOWS:
FIRE SAFETY
1. LARGE AMOUNTS OF CLUTTER AND DEBRIS THROUGHOUT STRUCTURE AND STACKED IN FRONT OF NORTH WINDOW AND BACK DOOR.
2. SMOKE DETECTORS NOT WORKING.

1. FLOORING - VINYL FLOORING IN KTICHEN IS IN A DETERIORATED STATE, SEVERAL TILES ARE BROKEN AND MISSING.
2. BATHROOM WALLS ARE IN A DETERIORATED STATE, PAINT SURFACES ARE PEELING, CHIPPING OFF AND BUBBLING UP.
3. CERAMIC TILES IN SHOWER AREA APROX. 1/2 A DOZEN ARE BROKEN AND MISSING.
PLUMBING
STRUCTURE WAS FOUND LACKING HOT WATER DUE TO ON GOING REPAIR TO HOT WATER SIDE SHOWER VALVE. OWNER STATED HE IS WORKING TO COMPLETE REPAIR AND SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY END OF WORK DAY.
WEATHER PROOFING
1. SEVERAL WINDOW WERE FOUND BROKEN THROUGHOUT STRUCTURE FRONT ENTRY DOOR, NORTHSIDE WINDOW.
ELECTRICAL
STRUCTURE HAS HAD AN ELECTRICAL UPGRADE TO 100 AMP. SERVICE, RECEPTACLES WERE TESTED AND CHECKED OUT GOOD.
COMPLAINT STATED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL CORDS WERE STRUNG THROUGHOUT PROPERTY. INSPECTION OF PROPERTY FOUND ROMEX #12 STRUNG OUT FROM RENTAL UNIT AT 114 S CUESTAS AVE TO MAIN STRUCTURE BEHIND RENTAL UNIT. ROMEX ILLEGALLY CONNECTED TO LOAD SIDE OF FUSE BOX AT 114 S CUESTAS AVE TO LINE SIDE OF 1408 W CONGRESS. CONNECTION DOES HAVE FUSE PROTECTION, OWNER STATED HE HAS SCHEDULED RECONNECT INSPECTION FOR 10/29/04 AND WILL HAVE SERVICE RECONNECTED ON SAME DAY. COMPLAINT ALSO STATED STOVE WAS LEAKING GAS, GAS STOVE WAS CHECKED AND TENANT REQUESTED HE SHOW DNR INSPECTION WHERE LEAK WAS LOCATED. TENANT, INSPECTOR AND TENANT'S SISTER RE-ENTERED UNIT STOVE TOP WAS LIFTED AND VALVE WAS TURNED ON. TENANT POINTED OUT LEAK, TURNS OUT WHAT TENANT THOUGHT WAS LEAK WHERE OFFICES USED FOR LIGHTING BURNERS. NO GAS LEAKS WERE FOUND. COMPLAINT HAD STATED COOLER WAS LEAKING, COOLER WAS CHECKED AND NO LEAKS WERE FOUND. INSPECTOR TESTED SWITCH TO VERIFY COOLER WAS WORKING. NO ROACH INFESTATION WAS PRESENT AT TIME OF INSPECTION. NOV WAS ISSUED TO OWNER FOR MIN HOSUING VIOLATIONS FOR ADDRESS 110 S CUESTA AVE AND NOV ISSUED FOR 1408 W CONGRESS ELECTRICAL VIOLATIONS. 110 S CUESTA AVE WAS GIVEN 30 DAYS TO ABATE VIOLATIONS. 1408 W CONGRESS WAS GIVEN 2 DAYS TO ABATE VIOLATIONS. PICTURES WERE TAKEN AND INSPECTOR II RICK SALDATE WAS INFORMED OF VIOLATION AT 1408 W CONGRESS. DECISION TO ALLOW TEMPORARY HOOK UP WAS DUE TO HOOK UP DID HAVE FUSE PROTECTION.
