I UTILIZED A T SQUARE TO ENSURE THAT THE LEVEL WAS BEING PLACED CORRECTLY ACROSS THE RAMP AND ASKED THE CONTRACTOR TO PLACE HIS LEVEL FOR THE READINGS. IN ALL LOCATIONS THAT WERE CHECKED THE READINGS EXCEEDED THE CROSS SLOPE IN THE RANGE OF 2.2 TO 2.5 % OF CROSS SLOPE, THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED IS 2.0%, THE RAMP FAILED. I ADVISED MARK AND THE CONCRETE CREW THAT THE AREA WAS OUT OF SPECIFICATION AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED AND REPOURED NOT TOO EXCEED THE 8.33% RUNNING SLOPE AND THE 2.0% CROSS SLOPE.

I HAVE ADVISED THE ENGINEER OF RECORD AND THE SITE SUPERINTENDENT THAT THIS SITE WILL REQUIRE THAT REVISIONS ARE SUBMITTED AND APPROVED FOR ALL THE CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE SITE, AND WE WILL REQUIRE A CERTIFICATION LETTER FROM THE STAMPING ARCHITECT.

08/15/2016 ENGR Engineering Final DROBERTS Denied Entered by DROBERT5 - MARK CONTACTED ME AND ASKED IF i WOULD BE ABLE TO COME TO THE SITE AND RECHECK THE GRADE SHOTS THAT i HAD DID LAST WEEK. THE CONTRACTOR FEELS THAT i HAVE NOT PLACED THE LEVEL PERPENDICULAR TO THE RUN OF THE PEDESTRIAN RAMP. HE HAS SCHEDULED THE SITE VISIT FOR 8/16/2016, I WILL MEET HIM AND THE CONTRACTOR AT 9 TOMORROW MORNING.
08/12/2016 ENGR Engineering Final DROBERTS Denied Entered by DROBERT5 - VISITED THE SITE TO MEASURE THE SLOPE VALUES TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS NO MISTAKE THAT THE SLOPES DO NOT MEET THE MAXIMUMS. I FIRST CHECKED THE RUNNING SLOPES ALONG THE OUTER EDGES AND ALONG THE CENTERLINE AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS. I THEN PROCEEDED TO CHEDCKTHE CROSSSLOPES OF THE RAMPS AT THE TOPS AND BOTTOMS OF EACH OF THE INDIVIDUAL PANELS. I FINISHED OFF THE PROCESS USING THE LASER LEVEL TO TAKE AN ELEVATION READING OF EACH PANEL DOWN THE RAMP. tHE CONCLUSION OF ALL THE INFORMATION VERIFIED THAT THE RUNNING SLOPE OF THE RAMP MAYBE AT THE MAXIMUM LIMITS OF THE 8.33% OF SLOPE BUT THE CROSS SLOPE PROVED TO EXCEED THE 2% MAXIMUM LIMIT.
