Date Description Inspector Results Comments
09/06/2024 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial Passed On site with Inspector Goodman at a house fire. TPD and SW Gas have both cut services to the property at this time. TFD made a preliminary determination that the fire was caused by an extension cord that was overloaded. The cord was plugged into an outlet located along the SW wall of the bedroom. The NW bedroom is where the fire originated and was the only room affected by the fire. The walls, ceiling, bedding, and every other item contained in the bedroom was burned. Due to the fire and damages being contained to just the one NW bedroom, Inspector Goodman made the determination that is was safe for the residents to remain occupied in the house. TPD and SW gas have returned to turn the services back on and we will be consulting with the residents as to what will and should happen next. Nov was issued on site to make all necessary repairs to the gas line if required by TFD, s/w tech stated he found no leaks inside and did a line test that also checked out to be OK. NOV was issued to make repairs to the electrical system, (only one outlet was burned). clean the walls and ceiling and to paint. Field NOV issued on site for emergency vacate.
