10/19/2024 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation Called out to scene by TFD for an apartment fire in Unit 104. Heavy smoke damage visible throughout unit. No apparent burn damage to the front living room walls or ceiling. The two bedrooms on the north side of the unit also do not have any apparent damage past the drywall or damage to electrical outlets. Holes cut into ceiling in northwest bedroom. No apparent structural damage to ceiling structural members. There is drywall and water damage throughout. Unable to determine what damage exists in the middle portion of the unit. Broken window at the northwest bedroom. Attempted calling the after hours maintenance but the call center employee was not successful in dispatching anyone to the scene. City contractor was called to secure the unit. Unit is condemned and Permits are required for repairs with use of a licensed contractor. Electric to the unit was isolated to the breaker labeled 10 as the complex is not individually metered. While still on scene, TPD was able to reach property manager who requested their contractor board the structure. Owner's contractor arrived and signed indemnification. -VM
