Arrived on scene at 510 AM. Property contains a vacant front single family residence (3406 E Fairmount St) and directly south of this is a duplex (1320/1322 N Jones Bl). The fire started in the area between the two buildings. In this area, there was an enclosure of sort with wooden framing walls and a roof. The wooden framing, roof structural members, and roof decking are all heavily fire damaged and failing. There is electrical in this area that has burned and bare copper. The roof has collapsed and an apparent roof mounted evaporative cooler is collapsing in, resting on wall. Inside the 3406 structure, all interior wall and ceiling surfaces throughout have smoke and soot damage from fire. The front (northwest) room has door busted in. There was debris including multiple mattresses stored in here. Those items caught fire and have caused fire damage to the ceiling and there is fire damage to roof structural member. Wall covering and ceiling previously removed. In the front entry room, door is breached and all windows busted. Light fixture is removed from ceiling, apparent fire damage to electrical wiring. Switches and outlet covers removed, are wet from firefighting activities. Cut outs in wall for apparent future electrical wiring. In kitchen, there is existing damage to plumbing. Kitchen is gutted of appliances and sink, ceiling is removed in areas. In northeast room, there is busted windows, new romex lines installed without a permit. All electrical meters off by TEP, and gas meters off by SW Gas. The electrical panels for units are not labeled. The unit that apparently serves this unit has damage to the feeder line where it leaves the panel, appears to be fire damage. The conduit run along the east area of bldg. is also damaged and wiring inside is likely fire damaged. Unit does not have a water heater. Permits with full plans are required for rehabilitation of structure and all noted defects, licensed contractor required as is not owner occupied. -VM |
