The fire investigators were on site checking for cause. The electric meter was blanked and the gas meter was turned off due to lacking the electric. The line test for gas passed and can be tuned back on once the electrical turned back on with out inspection for clearance. The fire was in the garage and contained to the garage. Had freezer and refrigerators connected to extension cords and the fire started in the area of the freezer. The drywall was pulled to check for fire in the attic area and had none. The ceiling has 2-layers and the outer layer is smoked. Has outlet and light fixtures that were damaged from the fire or heat. There is no structural damage to the wood framing. The main house has no damage from the fire. The garage was being used for storage and will need to be cleaned due to the contents have burned in the area of the freezer. The owner were on site and signed the paperwork and were talking to the insurance company. They have a place to stay. The owner will be securing the area. RV. |
