Conducted a site inspection of the subject property. TPD was also on scene. It was observed that someone had tapped into the water line for 4533 E Montecito St and had run a hose from the tap to to a hole in the wall at the subject property. I verified that Tucson Water had turned of water service at the meter to the subject property. The tenant consented to code enforcement, TPD and the landlord to enter the residence. While inside it was observed that the 40 gallon hot water heater had been removed and an instant hot water system was hanging on the wall; all without permits. There were also outlets without covers, light fixtures just hanging from the wall, and a ceiling fan partially hanging from the ceiling; all with exposed electrical lines. Several egress routes were blocked by furniture, trash and scrap/junk. There was a large amount of trash and scrap/junk throughout the entire house. One bedroom had a large amount of dog/cat feces on the floor. The tenant was advised that he had 24 hours to gather his items because I would be condemning the entire structure on 7/24/2026, due to not having water service, not having the required hot water, exposed electrical wires, egress routes being blocked, and the hazardous conditions of the interior due to the trash/scrap/junk/feces. A Notice of Violation will be issued to the tenant as he is the party responsible for all the violations. |
