Found a fire had been started on the shelf of the closet by the front door of Unit 1119 on the 11th floor of the building. There is charring to the closet shelving and the drywall in the area. The fire sprinkler in the closet activated and extinguished the fire before it caused any damage beyond the shelving or drywall. The activation of the fire sprinkler system caused water damage to this unit, the hallway of the 11th floor, and abutting units. The water also caused damag to the 10th floor and one unit on the 10th floor. Entered units 1123, 1122 on the 11th floor and found water pooled on the floor. The water is less than a half inch and depth and has caused no apparent damage to the unit. Entered Units 1022, 1019 and 1023 on the 10th floor. There was no water damage to Units 1022 and 1019. Unit 1023 had water that had pooled around the front door of the unit but no damage to light fixtures or any water coming out of mechanical equipment. Property Management from City of Tucson Housing and Community Development is on site and working to make repairs. The fire damage to Unit 1119 is very minimal in nature and caused no apparent structural damage. The smoke has mostly aired out of the area and the Unit is not unsafe to occupy at this time. No action will be taken and case will be closed. -VM |
