In Violation |
On site at property with TPD, owner, and later COT Contractor. A vehicle impacted the front of the structure causing significant damages to the front exterior wall. The impact resulted in substantial displacement and partial collapse of the brick, and debris and structural wall components from grade level to the roof line. The front window assembly was shattered and pushed inward into a guest bedroom. The left front corner masonry pier/column was visibly displaced. The impact area showed signs of displacement and loss of support. Cracking and separation were observed throughout the masonry joints and wall connections surrounding the damaged area. Debris consisting of brick, framing materials, and broken glass was scattered throughout both the exterior and interior portions of the structure. The interior living area was exposed to the exterior due to failure of the wall system. Based on visible conditions, the load-bearing capacity and structural integrity of the affected wall are compromised and undetermined at the time of inspection. It is recommended that the structure be evaluated by a licensed structural engineer prior to occupancy or repair activities. Permits Required. Condemnation. COT contractor did a temporary shore up to help support the structure's integrity and secured the front where damages and opening was with boarded up. Owner signed documents to secure the remaning structure. Power was isolated to that bedroom from the breakers in the backyard electrical outlet box. |
