Arrived on scene and found that TFD had deserted scene, TPD was on scene. Water was draining out of the second floor balcony gutters and stairway. Fire occurred in unit A203. Per fire investigators over the phone, resident was charging a lithium ion battery for his scooter and it ignited. The unit has smoke damage and water damage throughout the unit, including the living room area, bedroom and bathroom. Bedroom window is broken out. Bedroom has fire damage to drywall by the window, and along the south wall of the bedroom. There is smoke damage to the remaining wall drywall and ceiling drywall. Per TFD, fire did not enter the structure or pass through the drywall. Electrical doesn't appear to be burned, but outlets along both walls where fire occurred likely had water intrusion. Power is off to the unit at the main disconnect in the fire riser room. Unit is condemned and red tagged, may not be occupied. A permit is required for repairs to the unit. -VM |
