Owner is using the pieces of stumps to create a retaining wall in his landscape, will not consider it to be refuse or debris as they are neatly placed and not loose in the yard. 153 PM - Follow up at property for upcoming court hearing. Did give Defendant a copy of the Judge's response to his motion to dismiss the citation. Condition of the property is as follows: Charge A - In Violation - Dead trees remain in violation. Charge B - Abated - Majority of dead palm fronds were removed. Defendant removed dead palm fronds from one tree while on site, is now in full compliance. Charge C - Abated - Storage on rear porch has been significantly reduced, is no longer visible from the alley. -VM |

1040 AM - Hearing was held, defendant appeared via phone. City offered plea to have defendant plead responsible to all charges with fines suspended as long as defendant is taking steps to abate; otherwise would request a hearing on all charges. Defendant provided a very long story of why the dead trees should be allowed, says he uses them to put up Christmas decorations on them and cannot afford to remove them. Judge issued a continuance to 1/162024, wants to allow the defendant to have one last holiday season with the dead trees. -VM |
