| 03/22/2026 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | Arrived on scene at 11:20 PM and found fire still active at the far northeast section of the building on Parcels 11702142C and 11702145A. Electric was off at all customer disconnects by TFD upon arrival. Per TFD fire was on exterior and ignited gas meters in this area of the building. Fire was out at 12:06 AM. Gas meters burned for approximately 1.5 hours. Per TFD, fire did not spread to the structure as the structure is block. TFD did check roof and no fire spread to roof area. The suspected source of the fire was homeless activity. The attached shed structure east of the gas meters has no visible utilities. There is an electrical panel to the west of the gas meters and it has burned and melted parts inside. There is bare copper wiring inside. There are two apparent electric meters that serve this property and it is unclear where the disconnect to the burned panel is. Southwest Gas has cut service in the street. TEP was dispatched back out to scene and arrived at 210 AM to cut power at the pole as there was no other method of isolation. A licensed electrician shall isolate the burned electrical panel in order to reconnect power with a reconnect permit. Within 60 days, a licensed contractor shall make repairs or replace the damaged electrical panel and all gas lines. -VM |
