03/21/2026 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation Arrived to scene at 907 PM. Met with officer from TPD who states they were called out because the tenant had fallen down and likely fell down due to debris in the unit. Upon entering the unit TPD found unit is littered with trash and debris and has an infestation of roaches. Prior to entering the property, while standing at the front gate, there is a smell of feces that may be emanating from this structure. At the front (sliding) door facing east, can see into unit and when door is opened, a large quantity of roaches began scattering around. The observed roaches are in all stages of life and there are many baby or small roaches, along with other insects present. This infestation is very heavy. There is trash and debris scattered throughout the unit to include combustibles on top of the electric stove. The toilet is full of debris and per TPD is inoperable. The sink is full of dirty dishes. Based upon these findings, it is likely a person living in this environment could fall down or become injured due to the debris, and may become sick due to the sanitary conditions, to include the infestation of roaches. At this time, the unit is being red tagged as unsafe to occupy. Unit was secured by padlocking the illegal hasp on the sliding door and red tag posted. Power was turned off at the main disconnect. The unit must be thoroughly cleaned, and the unit shall be treated by a licensed pest control company to eliminate the infestation. Reinspection of the unit and invoice of pest control treatment will be required to lift condemnation. -VM
