03/13/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up | In Violation | Afternoon visit. Met with the electrician and determined what could be done. Circuits in the are for new work to be done will be isolated by removing the conductor from the breaker. Breakers will be left in the dead front to prevent opening that could be hazardous. I noted one on the NM cables that was exposed from the demoed walls had a burned/melted section about an inch long. Noted to the electrician that the back of the panel needed to be filled with a non-combustible product.to effectively close the unused opening where the cables enter the back of the sub-panel (110.12(A), also a bushing to protect the cables (300.4). Under (90.4) this maybe allowed. Noted also a white conductor was being used as an ungrounded conductor. Needs to be properly identified (310.6(C). I asked for a Lock-out type label to be displayed on the sub-panel cover during operation (NFPA 70E 130.1) | |
