Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a structure fire. Arrived and the units were still on site with an active fire. The fire investigators were on site and checking for cause. The fire was on the upper floor in the NW bedroom and burned into the hallway and bathroom. The unit has no electrical due to non payment and was using candles through out the unit for lighting. The fire was checked if entered the attic and did damage to the unit next door with water and pulling the ceiling down in a bedroom. The gas meter was turned off due to the amount of damage and the electrical was already off at the meter. The property is public housing for the City of Tucson and the manager and the maintenance were on site. They gave permission to have the unit boarded up once the investigation is complete. Called Arcaiden Industries to the site to have the unit secured. The window, doors, electrical and drywall was burned in the bedroom and going into the hallway and bathroom. Has heavy smoke damage through out the unit. The wood trusses have no damage and will need to be checked for smoke damage. The heating and cooling will also need to be checked and cleaned for smoke damaged. The electrical will need to make arrangements on payment before the electrical can be turned back on once the repairs have been completed. The manager signed the paperwork on site and posted Do Not Enter on the front window on the plywood over the window. Public Housing will address the repairs and the permits. RV. |
