06/29/2022 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were still on site and were in the process of cleaning up. The fire investigator was on site checking for cause. The fire started in the refrigerator and burned to the ceiling in the kitchen area. Has smoke damage in the other rooms in the house. The floor has standing water in the living room, kitchen and into the hallway. The electrical and the gas were removed at the meters. The electrical has issues on the electrical panel due to when the fire fighter went to remove the electrical to the unit, had sparking when the panel front was opened. The meter was being pulled to check for next door unit and the meter base has issues with the meter and was also removed. There is signs of water entering the meter base and into the electrical panels on both units. The gas can be turned back on once the electrical is back on. There is no structual damage to the wood framing of the trusses or the walls and ceilings. The plaster in the kitchen was burned in the ceiling where the refrigerator was located and burned toward the rear door. The windows and door were able to lock and the tenant locked the unit once gathering the items needed for the night. Redcross came to the site for placement. Did post the Do Not Enter on the front window. The owner was on site and signed the paperwork on site. The tenant was under Section 8 and send an Email of the fire to the office. The electrical panel may require an upgrade and the unit is a duplex. RV.
06/30/2022 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved The unit is vacant and secured and met with the owner on site to show the electrical panel. At this time the case will be closed due to the owner working with the insurance company and getting a contractor to do the work. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
