| 06/12/2022 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | VIDAL | Approved | Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were cleaning up and were checking for hot spots. The fire investigators were on site and checking for cause. The fire was in the attic and burned the wiring through out the attic including a junction box that was at the ridge of the house and going to the new 400 AMP panel on the exterior of the house. The electrical and the gas were removed at the meters and will require a reconnection permit to turn back on. A vent hole was cut on the roof in the middle of the roof. The wood rafters and 1X planking was burned or charred with heavy smoke. The ceiling joist are also burned at the tops of the joists with holes in the ceilings where checking for extension of the fire in the attic. The flooring has 2" of water with VCT on the flooring. Windows and doors are OK. Has a wood frame carport that has been extended to the lot line and has no permits. The rear porch was removed and replaced with new wood framing with no permits. Has AC that will be installed on the roof and has no permits and at this time has no heating or cooling for the house. At this time has no water heater and will be replaced with new and has no permits. Has upgrade for the electrical to 400 AMP with no inspections. The fire was in the location where the junction box was at the ridge and the wirning going the junction box and to the new panel on the exterior of the house. The owner was going to secure the house once he gathers the items he needs for a couple of days. The owner was called back to the site to have the paperwork signed. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on the front window. The owner was already staying in a hotel due to no cooling in the house and will not need placement. The interior of the house has some smoke on the walls and ceiling but no fire damage. The fire was in the attic. The water was left on at this time to the house. RV. |
