06/21/2022 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved The office called that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and all the units have cleared the site. The fire was in the kitchen area by the stove. The owner was cooking and the power went off and was told that it would be off for some time. The owner did leave the site due to had a child and was hot in the house. The power came back on and the electric stove was not turned off and started to heat the pot on the stove and started the grease fire. The kitchen cabinets were burned or have smoke damage, the drywall was burned or pulled down to check for fire in the walls and ceiling, the light fixture burned and falling, the living room has damaged drywall at the celing level into the hallway. Had a microwave in the cabinets and was also used as a range hood and burned. The flooring has water standing in the kitchen and the living room from fighting the fire. The windows and doors were able to lock but the security door at the sliding glass door has been damaged from forced entry to get into the house. The side gate at the drive had the gate removed off the hinges and put to the side to get into the rear yard area. There is no structual damage to the house. The stove is a total lost. The owners have somewhere to go and gathered some items for a couple of days then locked the house. Did place some screws on the security door for the sliding glass door and place a bar to prevent from opening up the sliding glass door. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on the front window. The owner signed the paperwork. RV.
