05/19/2022 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, KNOCKED ON DOOR BUT RECEIVED NO ANSWER. I WALKED AROUND TO THE NORTH SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE, FOUND A NORTHSIDE WINDOW CRACKED AND COOL AIR BLOWING FROM THE COOLER. CHECKED THE ROOF AND COULD HEAR THE COOLER RUNNING. REIOR TO THE INSPECTION I HAD CONTACTED OWNERS WHO STATED A PERSON HAD JUST BEEN OUT TO CHECK THE COOLER AND THEY PROVIDED HIS NUMBER. I CONTACTED THAT PERSON, HE STATED THAT THE COOLER WAS GIVEN NEW COOLER PADS, THAT HE CHECKED THE SPIDERS AND THEY WERE FLOWING WELL INTO THE LOUVERS. HE STATED HE WENT INSIDE TO CHECK AIR FLOW AND FOUND A MESH ON EACH OF THE GRILLES AND DIRT BUILD UP ON THE MESH, HE STATED HE REMOVED THE MESH. PERSON ALSO STATED THAT THERE IS A MINI SPLIT UNIT IN THE BEDROOM AND THAT HE EXPLAINED TO THE OCCUPANT THAT IN THIS SMALL UNIT THE TWO WOULD NOT WORK WELL TOGETHER, SO SHE WOULD NEED TO RUN THE MINI SPIT OR THE COOLER SEPERATELY. I LEFT MY BUSINESS CARD ON THE DOOR AND ASKED OCCUPANT TO PLEASE CONTACT. I LATER RECEIVED A CALL, SHE STATED SHE CALLED OTHER A/C PEOPLE TO THE UNIT TO CHECK THE COOLING AND SHE WAS TOLD THE MINI SPLIT UNIT WAS NO GOOD. AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHE DOES HAVE THE COOLER RUNNING BUT STATED SHE DID NOT THINK IT WAS WORKING APPOPRIATELY. I TOLD HER I WOULD BE BY ON MONDAY.
05/26/2022 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE GOODMAN Approved REVISITED SITE, MET WITH OCCUPANTS WHO STATED KITCHEN AREA IS VERY WARM. COOLER WAS WORKING AND I WAS ABLE TO FEEL COOL AIR BLOWING FROM THE SUPPLY REGISTER, I ALSO FELT AIR BLOWING OUT OF THE BEDROOM AND BATHROOM REGISTERS. I ALSO FOUND A WALL A/C UNIT THAT WAS NOT ON. OCCUPANT STATED THEY USE THAT PRIMARILY AT NIGHT. OCCUPANTS STATED THEY HAD CONTACTED A CONTRACTOR FAMILY A/C WHO INFORMED THEM THEY WOULD NEED A 2ND UNIT IF THEY WERE TO USE JUST A/C UNITS TURN THEM OFF WHEN THEY LEFT THE HOUSE AND KEEP THE COOLER OFF BUT THAT TRYING TO USE BOTH COOLER AND A/CWOULD CAUSE UNITS TO WORK AGAINST THEMSELVES WHICH IS CORRECT. INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE WAS COOL BUT OT COOL ENOUGH FOR THE OCCUPANT. I EXPLAINED THE CITY CODE FOR COOLING AND INFORMED THEM OWNER HAS MET THE COOLING CODE. I INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD ASK THE OWNER TO CHECK THE COOLER ONE MORE TIME, AND TO CHECK THE LOUVERS ON THE COOLER TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE GETTING PROPER AIR FLOW. I DID CONTACT THE OWNER AND PASSED THE INFORMATION ALONG. C/E HAS NO FURTHER JURISDICTION. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
