09/27/2021 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | GOODMAN | Approved | VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD INVESTIGATORS WHO STATED THEY FEEL THE FIRE HAD STARTED IN UPSTAIRS UNIT 13204, FIRE MOVED INTO THE ATTIC SPACE AND INTO THE ATTIC AREA OUTSIDE THE UNIT AND ABOVE THE WALKWAY OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR. MY INSPECTION FOUND UNIT 13204 COMPLETELY FLOODED. ALL DRYWALL HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE CEILING AREA. SEVERAL TRUSSES HAD BEEN FIRE DAMAGED AS WELL AS THE ROOF SHEATHING. ROOF SHEATHING IN THE WALKWAY WAS ALSO FIRE DAMAGED, TRUSSES RECEIVED MINIMAL DAMAGE, OR MORE SMOKE DAMAGE THAN FIRE. ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THE CEILING AREA WAS FIRE DAMAGED, ALL LIGHT FIXTURES MELTED OR DAMAGED. UNIT 13204 WAS A COMPLETE LOSS. THE UNIT BELOW 13104 WAS FLOODED, DRYWALL CEILING RECIEVED HEAVY WATER DAMAGE AND DRYWALL TAPE FALLING OFF OF MOST TAPE JOINTS. WATER WAS LEAKING THRU THE LIGHT FIXTURES. I WOULD GUESS ALL CEILING DRYWALL WILL BE REPLACED AND LEAD MAINTANENCE PERSON CONFIRMED THAT. I INSPECTED 6 SURROUNDING UNITS, 13105 & 13205, 13103 & 13203 AND 13102 & 13202. UNITS 13102, 13205 WERE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING AND 13103 HAD TWO PEOPLE THAT WERE NOT ELIGABLE FOR STUDENT HOUSEING THE 3RD PERSON WOULD BE HOUSED. ALL OTHER RESIDENTS WERE BEING HOUSED IN UNOCCUPIED UNITS. RED CROSS WAS NOT REQUIRED. ELECTRICAL HAD BEENTURNED OFF TO 12 UNITS AND POWER WAS RESTORED TO REMAINING 8 UNITS ON THE NORTH END OF THE COMPLEX. . UNITS 13104 & 13204 POWER WAS TURNED OFF AND METERS BOOTED. THE REMAINING 6 UNITS ON THE SOUTH END POWER REMAINED OFF AT THE DISCONNECT AND A ELECTRICAL EVALUATION WAS REQUIRED BEFORE POWER WAS TURNED BACK ON. EMERGENCY ABATEMENT, ORDER TO VACATE NOV'S WERE ISSUED FOR 13104 AND 13204, PERMITS REQUIRED NOV WAS ISSUED FOR UNITS 13101 THRU 13205 FOR THE ELECTRICAL EVALUATION AND REQUIRED RECONNECT PERMIT FOR UNITS 13102 & 13204. NOVS WERE SIGNED FOR BY THE REGIONAL MANAGER FOR THE APT COMPLEX. SHE ALSO TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE OCCUPANTS BEING REHOUSED. |
10/06/2021 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | GOODMAN | Approved | REVISITED SITE, FOUND ALL SIX VACATED UNITS REMAIN VACANT, LOCKS HAVE BEEN CHANGED OUT ON ALL UNITS SO THAT ALL INTERACTIONS MUST GO THRU MANAGEMENT OR MAINTANENCE FIRST. MANAGER STATE THAT THE ELECTRICIAN HAD BEEN BY TO EVALUATE THE UNITS BUT HAS NOT YET PROVIDED THE EVALUATION TO C/E. EVERTHING HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE UNITS AND WINDOWS LEFT OPEN. C/E HAS NO FURTHER ISSUES AT THIS TIME. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. |
