06/04/2021 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | GOODMAN | Approved | VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD CAPTAIN AND INVESTIGATORS WHO INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD A EARLIER FIRE AT 12 AM AT UNIT #22, SOMEBODY HAD STARTED A FIRE AT THAT UNIT. TFD HAD CONTACTED ARCADIAN TO HAVE THAT UNIT SECURED DUE TO THE SMALL AMOUNT OF DAMAGE BUT BROKEN WINDOWS. I ALSO FOUND WALKING IN, THAT THE UNITS WERE BEING UPGRADED, NEW PAINT INSIDE AND OUT, NEW FLOORING, NEW CABINETS AND COUNTER TOPS, NEW APPLIANCES AND NEW DOORS. I FOUND A PERMIT IN P+ FOR A NEW SUB PANEL UPGRADE IN EACH UNIT (PERMIT #T21CMO1096) THE OTHER UPGRADES DID NOT REQUIRE PERMITS. SO LATER IN THE MORNING A SECOND CALL FOR A FIRE IN UNIT 21 WAS RECEIVED AND C/E WAS CONTACTED TO RESPOND. TPD WAS INVESTIGATING. BOTH UNITS 21 AND 22 WERE VACANT, NEARLY COMPLETE WITH UPGRADES. FIRE WAS STARTED AT THE FRONT DOOR, DOOR COMPLETELY BURNED AND FRONT WINDOWS BROKEN . TFD HAD TRIED CONTACTING MANAGER WITH NO RESPONSE. TWO MAINTANENCE PEOPLE WERE ON SITE AND MET WITH TFD. WINDOW AND DOOR REPLACEMENT WILL NOW BE REQUIRED FOR BOTH UNITS BUT WILL NOT REQUIRED PERMITS. ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS WERE SECURED BY ARCADIAN AND UNITS LOCKED UP BEFORE EXITING. WIL TRY TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE MANAGER. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. |
