03/22/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, DOORS TO THE RETAIL SPACE WERE LOCKED, SPACE WAS EMPTY. THERE WAS NO CONSTRUCTION WORK BEING DONE INSIDE THE FRONT OF THE SPACE. NO STRUCTURAL, ELECTRICAL OR PLUMBING BEING COMPLETED IN THE FRONT OF THE STORE. GLASS SHELVING LINED THE WALLS NO PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR THE SHELVING. THE SPACE WAS VERY CLEAN. I WAS UNABLE TO SEE PAST THE WALL BEHIND THE COUNTER. I DID WALK AROUND TO THE REAR OF THE STORE. THE DBL DOORS WERE LOCKED. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE AROUND THE PROPERTY THAT WORK WAS BEING DONE, NO CONSTRUCTION TRASH OR DEBRIS. THE ALLEY WAS VERY CLEAN AT THE TIME, NO HOMELESS WALKING THE ALLEY AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION. THERE ARE 4 SMALL STORES IN THE COMPLEX AND 15 SHARED PARKING SPACES IN FRONT OF THE STRUCTURE. THERE WAS ALSO SPACE THAT COULD BE USED ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE IF PERMISSION TO USE THAT SPACE IS OBTAINED FROM THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY (CHERRY HOLDINGS LLC) . I SPOKE WITH ZONING ADMINISTRATOR RUSSLYN WELLS WHO STATED THERE IS NO SEPERATION OR DISTANCE REQUIREMENT BETWEEN THIS RETAIL SHOP AND THE SCHOOL. RUSSLYN COMPARED THIS SMOKE SHOP TO THE CONVIENENCE STORE TO THE EAST. THEY SELL LIQUOR AND CIGARETTES AND TOBACCO AND ARE WITHIN 500 FT OF THE SCHOOL. THE C/O IS IN ACTIVE STATUS MEANING IF THE STORE WAS A RETAIL STORE AND IT REMAINS A RETAIL STORE WITH THE NEW OCCUPANT, THE C/O DOES NOT CHANGE. THERE ARE NO VIOLATIONS CONCERNING THE PROPERTY AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION. I BELIEVE ALL ISSUES WERE COVERED. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
