01/03/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were still on site and were cleaning up to leave the site. The fire investigators arrived to check for cause of the fire. The fire was in a room where the water heater was removed and a new water heater was installed. The water heater was electrical and changed with a new electric water heater. There was no damage to the house and the room is detached from the main house and is a 2-story structure with the upstair portion being used for storage. Wiring for a 220 outlet has been burned in the area and the outlets has been damaged from the heat of the fire and the fire burning in the wiring. Has other wiring for lighting and outlets for the room that also have been damaged. The electrical was removed at the meter due the damage of the wiring in the room only. The wood studs have been burned in the wall and drywall has been removed to check the extension of the fire. The stucco on the exterior is loose where checking for fire on the exterior of the room. There is a upper floor and that was checked for fire and found smoke in the room. The room has furniture being stored on the upper floor. No damage to the house or the upper floor. The gas was left on at this time. Will not have hot water due to on electrical and is off and the water heater is electric. Redcross is coming to the site for placement. The son is living in the house at this time and the owner will be notified of the fire and checking for the insurance to call for the damage. Did let the son know that an electician will need to check the damage to remove the wiring or replace the wiring to have the electrical turned back on. Will need a permit to have the electrical turned back on. RV.
09/08/2021 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved The permit has been issued and the electrical has been turned back on. T21CM00045 issues on 1-4-21 and finaled on 1-4-21. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
