Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4 PERMITS REQUIRED Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.

Did ask the workers for a permit and there was none. They did have a plan for the contractor to show where the work was going to be done and what was going to be changed. No markings of size of areas or beam size or what was going to be done where. Did meet with the owner on site and did go over that the work being done will need to be stop at this time until a permit has been issued showing what work is going to be done. They were installing a Glu-lam for the upper floor where the wood was termite damaged. They did change the size of the beam to a Glu-lam beam. They were able to put the beam in place and put the joist hangers up for the floor joist to the beam. The workers cleaned up and left the site. The owner wants the paperwork to be E-mailed to him. Will do N.O.V. RV.}
12/08/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up Passed The work is being done on the repairs and the permit has issued, TC-COM-0623-01560, applied for on 6-22-2023 and issues on 11-28-2023. Did have an inspection on 11-29-2023 to check the fire alarm system. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
