| 05/06/2020 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | VIDAL | Approved | Office called that T.P.D. on site with a car into building. Arrived and the units were still on site. The vehicle has left the site and has been another accident at another location. While on site the property went into crime scene and were sending a detective. Was able to find the electrical wiring and has not been damaged in the masonry wall. The masonry wall has been pushed into the house a couple of inches. The wood frame wall was pushed into the housed that has an arched opening on the interior of the house. The drywall has cracks in the wall that is east of the masonry wall. The masonry wall has stress cracks where the wall was pushed up to 7' high with the height of the doors in the area and 20' wide with a door and 2-windows in the area. There is a metal security door at the impact area where the metal has been pushed in and hard to open and close due to the bent frame for the metal security door. Has a wood door away from the impact area and that door is OK and is the main entry into the house. The wall on the north side is a bearing wall and the wall on the west side is not bearing but is part of the corner that has been damaged. The foundation that supports the masonry wall has been chipped on the interior of the wall. The son of the owner give permission to have the property secured with the city contractor. Called Arcaiden Industries to the site to have the area secured. The son signed the paperwork when he came to the site. The wood frame wall with the arch is bearing the main roof to a family room. The masonry wall has no rebar and may require engineering to have the wall replaced. Did go over that the engineer may require going to the corner and past 6' for a return for the stability for the corner. The windows may require being replaced with daul pane when the work is done. The tenant will be able to remain in the house at this time and that may change once the work starts to be done. RV. |
| 05/07/2020 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | VIDAL | Approved | The house is able to be lived in and the area of the damage is secured at this time. The owner or the son of the owner will be working with the insurance of the person that hit the building or their own insurance to get the work done. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV. |
