TPD HAD INFORMED ME THAT A RESIDENCE HAD CONTACTED TFD CONCERNING WATER COMING OUT OF UNIT #19 BUT THAT THE OCCUPANT HAS NOT BEEN SEEN IN DAYS. TFD FORCED ENTRY AND WATER WAS 11/2 INCHES DEEP INSIDE THE UNIT. HOT WATER WAS FLOWING FROM THE TUB AND TFD WAS UNABLE TO SHUT THE VALVES OFF. TRIED LOOKING FOR WATER SHUT OFF BUT UNABLE TO GET THE WATER TURNED OFF. UNIT #20 WAS CLOSED OFF BECAUSE HE WAS FOUND DEAD IN HIS UNIT (ELDERLY). CHECKED UNIT 18 THAT WAS NOT GETTING WATER INTO HER UNIT. I FOUND ALL PARTING WALLS AND EXTERIOR WALLS WERE BLOCK, CMU WALLS AND THE BLOCK WALLS DID NOT ALLOW WATER TO SEEP INTO ADJOINING UNITS. I ENTERED THE UNIT TRIED SHUTTING THE VALVES TO THE TUB OFF ALSO UNABLE TO. TRIED CONTACTING MANAGEMENT EMERGENCY NUMBERS, AND LEFT MULTIPLE MESSAGED AS DID TFD AND TPD, RECEIVED NO RESPONSE SO I CONTACTED TUCSON WATER AND EXPLAINED THE EMERGENCY, WATER STATED THEY WERE OT SURE WHAT THEY COULD DO BUT WOULD SEND SOMEONE OUT TO ASSESS THE SITUATION. TUCSON WATER UPON ARRIVAL ALSO TRIED SHUTTING OFF THE TUB VALVES AND BROKE THE VALVES OFF. I ASKED IF THERE WAS SOME WAY OF SHUTTING OFF THE HOTWATER AND LEAVING THE COLD WATER ON SO THAT OCCUPANTS WOULD AT LEAST HAVE WATER. WE TRIED DIFFERENT THINGS BUT ENDED UP TURNING OFF THE COLD WATER SHUT OFF TO THE HOTWATER HEATERS THAT DID TURN THE HOT WATER OFF TO THE UNITS BUT LEFT THEM WITH COLD WATER UNTIL MAINTANENCE COULD MAKE REPAIRS. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT OCCUPANT VACATED THE UNIT AND INTENTIONALLY LEFT THE TUB RUNNING. TPD WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE OCCUPANT BUT SHE HAD NO CONTACT INFORMATION. RESIDENCES STATED SHE LEFT 3-4 DAYS PRIOR. I LEFT MY BUSINESS CARD ON THE MANAGERS OFFICE DOOR ASKING THEY CONTACT ME . I CALLED THE MANAGER THE FOLLOWING DAY AND INFORMED HER OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND EXPLAINED THE REPAIRS TO THE TUB FAUCET WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED BEFOR WATER TO THE HOTWATER HEATERS COULD BE TURNED BACK ON. MANAGER STATED MAINTANENCE IS PRESENTLY REMOVING THE WATER FROM THE UNIT AND ARE PICKING UP NEW VALVES FOR THE TUB. SHE ALSO STATED ALL DEBRIS WOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE UNIT. THERE WERE NO BELONGINGS OF VALUE AT THIS TIME. WILL FOLLOW UP WITH MANAGER. |
