04/07/2020 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved The fire started in the living room area and burned into the kitchen and dinning room area. The bedroom and the bathroom has heavy smoke damage. The drywall was burned in the living room, kitchen and dinning room area. The wood framing was not damaged by the fire but some of the drywall was pulled down to check for the extension of the fire getting into the attic space for the utilities for the unit and had no signs of fire damage. There were holes made in the bedroom and bathroom to check for fire getting in the floor joist areas and had not. The sliding glass door and the front door were burned in the fire. The bedroom window has broken glass on the double panes on one side. The electrical breakers have heat damage and the dead front was still in place and not sure on the wiring in the panel. The smoke line is below 4' from the ground level. The kitchen cabinets are burned or smoked. The electrical meter was booted and has a red tag on the meter. The manager gave permission to have the unit boarded up and called Arcaiden Industries to the site to have the window, sliding glass door and the front door boarded up. Did the posting of Do Not Enter on the front door on the plywood. The Director from the section that has people monitored on the property signed the paperwork and will give it to the manager for the property. The manager was taking pictures before being boarded up. 04/07/2020 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received a call from inspector Gerald Goodman and T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and the units were still on site and the fire was out with checking for hot spots and the units were starting to clean up. The fire was contained to the unit with no damage to the other units surrounding the fire unit. Did have a fatality and the site went into crime scene. Did check the other unit to allow the tenants back into the unit that were vacated during the fire operation. The electtrical has been removed at the meter by T.E.P. The unit has no gas and water was left on. The fire was in the living room area and burned into the kitchen and dinning room area. Will wait for the investigation to be done. RV.
04/08/2020 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved The unit is vacant and secured. At this time the case will be closed due to the company will be working with the insurance company and getting a contractor. The other units next to the burned unit are all OK at this time. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
