02/01/2020 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and the units have cleared the site. Did have a death in the fire and the fire investigators were on site with the detectives from T.P.D. The were completing the investigation. The owner was on site and was not able to secure the site. Called Arcaiden Industries to the site to have the unit secured. The fire was in one unit of a duplex. The other unit was OK and was able to remain in the unit. The fire was in the sleeping area and has heavy smoke damage through out the house. The electrical and the gas was removed at the meters due to the amount of damage of the fire. The drywall was burned in the bedroom area and has holes in the ceiling where checking for fire.The main structure is OK and not able to find burned or damaged wood framing. The front window broke due to the fire. Did have a death of the tenant of the unit. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on the front window that was boarded and the owner left the site and did the posting of the paperwork on the front window. The owner left the site to eat and he called when leaving the site and was advised that the paperwork was on the plywood of the window that was covered. RV.
02/04/2020 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved The unit is vacant and secured and at this time the case will be closed due to working with the insurance company and working with the tenants family on the possessions in the house that are salvageable. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
