08/30/2019 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT MORALES Approved EMERGENCY CALL OUT BY TPD: ON SITE INSPECTION: THERE IS AN EXTENSION CORD HARDWIRED TO THE MAIN DISCONNECTS 20 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER, THE EXTENSION CORD RUNS OVER 50 FEET TO POWER AN RV IN THE BACK YARD. THE MAIN DISCONNECT ALSO HAS AN 18 GAUGE WIRE CONNECTED TO A NUMBER 30 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER. BOTH OF THESE CONDUCTORS WERE DISCONNECT BY THE CITY INSPECTOR. THIS IS UNAPPROVED WIRING METHODS AND HAZARDOUS DUE TO THE OVER CURRENT PROTECTION EXCEEDS THE CONDUCTOR AMPACITY. THE MAIN DISCONNECT ALSO HAS THE FOLLOWING CODE VIOLATIONS: NO DEAD FRONT, VERIFY GROUNDING SYSTEM, MIS MATCHED CIRCUITS BREAKERS, THE DISCONNECT IS AN ITE PANEL WITH SQUARE D BREAKERS. THE ROOF MOUNTED COOLER IS BE POWERED BY EXTENSION CORDS AND THE REAR PORCH LIGHT IS HANGING AND BE SUPPORTED BY EXPOSED CONDUCTORS, THE EXTERIOR OUTLET HAS A DUPLEX RECEPTACLE AND HAS A MISSING COVER PLATE. THE REAR YARD HAD MULTIPLE EXTENSION CORDS ALL OVER THIS IS ABUSED IS UNAPPROVED WIRING METHODS. THE REAR DOOR HAD A LOCKING DEVICE WHICH ALLOWS A PAD LOCK TO LOCK THE EXIT DOOR FROM THE EXTERIOR. THIS WAS ALSO REMOVED BY THE CITY INSPECTOR. THE (2) EXTENSION CORDS TO THE COOLER WERE DISCONNECTED. A NOTICE OF VIOLATION WAS ISSUED FOR ELECTRICAL CODE VIOLATIONS AND LACK OF COOLING. THE OCCUPANT WAS ADVISED THAT THE OWNER HAS 48 HOURS TO CORRECT THE VIOLATIONS AND RESTORE COOLING, ALSO THAT EXTENSION CORDS BEING USED AS PERMANENT WIRING IS A FIRE HAZARD AND THE EXTERIOR LOCKING DEVICES TO EXIT DOORS AND WINDOWS ARE ALSO DANGEROUS, THEY PREVENT RAPID EGRESS IN CASE OF FIRE. A LICENSED CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED FOR REPAIRS, FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN CONDEMNATION AND POWER TO BE DISCONNECT. EXTENSION CORDS RUNNING FROM MAIN STRUCTURE TO RV TRAILER PARKED IN REAR YARD. REFUSE AND DEBRIS IN REAR YARD. THE RV TRAILER WAS POSTED UNSAFE TO OCCUPY AND THE TENANT WAS REMOVED FROM THE RV BY TUCSON POLICE. ALL ELECTRICAL CORDS WERE REMOVED FROM TRAILER AND OWNER'S NIECE REMOVED THE EXTENSION CORDS AND PLACE THEM INSIDE OF DWELLING. OWNER'S NIECE IS GOING TO SECURE THE TRAILER. A FOLLOW UP INSPECTION WILL BE CONDUCTED ON 9/03/2019
09/04/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE MORALES Approved ON SITE, KNOCK ON DOOR NO ANSWER. THE RV HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM PROPERTY. REFUSE AND DEBRIS REMAIN ON PROPERTY.
