07/31/2018 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, MET WITH THE OCCUPANT WHO ALLOWED ENTRY INTO THE COMMERCIAL BUILDING. OCCUPANT STATED HE WAS INFORMED THAT HE NEEDED TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE STRUCTURE TO ALLOW HIS BUSINESS, CHANGING THE USE FROM STORAGE TO ENTERTAINMENT. I DID FIND THAT THE OCCUPANT HAD COMPLETED ALL WORK UNDER PERMIT T18CM01323 AND PERMIT WAS FINALED, ALL INSPECTIONS APPROVED. THE COMPLAINT WAS FROM THE OWNER WHO STATED THE TENANT BLOCKED OFF THE REAR DOOR, NEAR A STAIRWELL THAT ALLOWED THE OWNER TO RENT THE ROOM UPSTAIRS TO A 2ND OCCUPANT. OWNER IS UPSET NOW THAT THE REAR DOOR IS CLOSED OFF BY OCCUPANT USING PANICK HARDWARE ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR AND NO HARDWARE ON THE OUTSIDE TO ALLOW ENTRY SO THAT THE UPSTAIRS ROOM CAN NO LONGER BE RENTED TO A 2ND PARTY. THIS BECOMES A CIVIL MATTER. OCCUPANT DID DO ALL WORK UNDER PERMIT AND ALL INSPECTIONS APPROVED OWNER UPSET WITH OCCUPANT WHO HE LEASED TO AND MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF ANY CHANGES BEING MADE TO HIS BUILDING. PLUS OWNER MUST DO THINGS LEGALLY. THERE ARE NO VIOLATIONS. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
