07/19/2018 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD INVESTIGATORS WHO STATED THE FIRE WAS STARTED BY SOME PLUMBERS SWEATING COPPER PIPE AT THE REAR OF THE STRUCTURE. TFD STATED THE AREA WAS IN THE REAR HOTWATER HEATER AREA AND THE ENTRANCE WAS FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE STRUCTURE AND A PERSON WOULD BE UNABLE TO GET NSIDE THE STRUCTURE FROM THE HOTWATER HEATER ROOM. MY FINDINGS AREA AS FOLLOWS: >PROPERTY WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM COT REALESTATE, WAS SUPPOSE TO BE DEMO'ED BUT SOLD TO PRESENT OWNER. > OWNERS DO HAVE PLANS AND PERMITS FOR THE REMODEL. >FIRE WAS STARTED IN THE REAR, PLUMBERS WERE RUNNING WATER LINES FROM THE HOTWATER HEATER TO THE KITCHEN WASH ROOM NEXT TO HOTWATER HEATER ROOM >FIRE STARTED IN A CHANNEL FOR A RETURN WALL. BURNED UP THE CHANNEL THRU THE PLYWOOD SHEATHING BUT DID NOT SPREAD. THE TWO STUDS THAT CREATE THE CHANNEL WERE THE ONLY STUDS THAT BURNED. > SPOKE TO OWNER REP CHEN. OLD MARISCO CHIHUAHUA IS NOW GOING TO BE CHEF WANG'S, A CHINESE RESTARAUNT. >CHEN WILL HAVE FRAMERS SECURE THE HOTWATER HEATER ROOM IF THEY FEEL IT NEEDS IT AND AGAIN ROOM DOES NOT ENTER INTO THE MAIN RESTARAUNT AREA. >FIRE DAMAGE MINIMAL. >ELECTRICAL SERVICE NOT AFFECTED >NOV WAS NOT ISSUED DUE TO THE STRUCTUE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. > I FELT THE WALL WAS OPENED UP AND CHANNEL COULD BE EASILY CHANGED OUT WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THAT IS UNDER PERMIT. EXPLAINED TO THE REP FOR THE OWNER WHY THE NOV WOULD NOT BE ISSUED AND THAT I WOULD BE CLOSING MY CASE.
