07/12/2018 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD WHO STATED THEY RESPONDED TO A CALL AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED FOUND IT WAS A BROKEN SPRINKLER HEAD IN UNIT 1019. OCCUPANT IN UNIT 1019 IS PRESENTLY IN THE HOSPITAL FROM BACK SURGERY. OCCUPANT IN 1614 IS LOOKING AFTER THE UNIT FOR THE OCCUPANT OF 1019 AND CAME DOWN ONLY WHEN MADE AWARE OF THE FLOOR THAT WAS FLOODED. TFD PUSHED WATER OUT FROM THE HALWAY AND INTO THE STAIRWELL. POWER WAS NOT SHUT OFF AT THE TIME OF MY ARRIVAL I DID CHECK THE ELECTRICAL AND TELEPHONE ROOMS FOR WATER DAMAGE. THERE WAS VERY MINOR DAMAGE DOWN TO THE 6TH FLOOR. DID GO DOOR TO DOOR FROM THE 6TH FLOOR TO THE 10TH FLOOR CHECKING WATER DAMAGE SO THAT TUCSON HOUSE MAINTANENCE COULD START EXTRACTING WATER FROM THOSE UNITS. WALKED THE UNITS WITH MAINTANENCE PERSON JUAN SALCIDO WHO WAS HELPFUL PUTTING TOGETHER A LIST OF WATER DAMAGED UNITS, 719, 819, 919 AND 1019 RECEIVED THE MOST WATER IN THE HALLWAY AND S/E BEDROOMS. TONY CARRANZA / PHYSICAL PLANT OPERATOR ALSO ARRIVED AND MET WITH TFD, WENT OVER CAUSE OF FLOOD WITH TFD AND STARTED CHECKING SPRINKLER SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE SYSTEM WAS OFF AND FULLY DRAINED. I DID PROVIDE A LIST OF UNITS THAT NEEDED TO HAVE WATER EXTRACTED INCLUDING THE HALLWAY OF FLOORS 6 THRU 12. I EXPLAINED TO TONY AND JUAN THAT ALL OCCUPANTS WEST OF UNITS 1017, 917, 817 ETC.. COULD GO BACK TO THEIR ROOMS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WATER DAMAGE OR ELECTRICAL HAZARDS. ALSO UNITS EAST 0F THE 17'S THAT HAD NO WATER DAMAGE OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES COULD ALSO RETURN. BUILDING WAS TURNED BACK OVER TO RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE FOR THE TUCSON HOUSE. TUCSON HOUSE MAINTANENCE HAD CALLED OTHER MAINTANENCE WORKERS WHO ALSO ARRIVED TO START THE WATER EXTRACTION. THERE WILL BE NO VIOLATIONS. COMPLAINCE / CLOSE CASE.
