UNIT #2108 WAS A VACANT UNIT BEING REMODELED AND GETTING READY TO RE OCCUPY. MAINTANENCE PERSON STATED THE ORIGINAL PLUMBING WAS A MESS, HE HAS ONLY BEEN THERE 3 MONTHS AS MAINTANENCE PERSON, BUT WAS TRYING TO GET A SHUT OFF VALVE INSTALLED IN #2108 SO THAT ONLY ONE UNIT NEEDED TO BE SHUT OFF WHEN THERE WAS A PLUMBING PROBLEM INSTEAD OF FOUR UNITS DOWN. I WAS INFORMED BY RON THAT HE HAD A PLUMBER IN EARLIER DURING THE DAY, IT DID NOT WORK OUT, SO THE PRESENT PLUMBER NICK BETTINI WAS THE PERSON DOING THE WORK WHEN NICK FOUND THE AREA SMOKING AND THE FIRE FURTHER UP THE WALL APPROX 3 FT. TFD AND THE PLUMBER BOTH FELT A SPARK OR ELECTRICAL WIRE MAY HAVE BEEN THE ISSUE THAT STARTED THE FIRE FROM THE WORK STARTED BY PREVIOUS PLUMBER. NICK STATED HE HAS LOST SO MUCH TIME ON THE EMERGENCY CALL THAT HE FELT IT WOULD BE BEST IF HE COMPLETED THE WORK THE FOLLOWING DAY ALSO BECAUSE IT WAS NOW LATE IN THE EVENING AND TOO DARK. INSPECTED UNITS 1108, 1113 AND 2113, THE ADDITIONAL UNITS THAT HAD WATER TURNED OFF. > OCCUPANTS IN 1113 WHERE CONTACTED AND IN PHOENIX, WOULD BE STATYING THERE UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY WITH FRIENDS. THEY WERE INFORMED THAT THEY HAD ELECTRICAL, BUT WATER WAS OFF BUTTO BE TURNED ON BY SATURDAY AM, BUT TO GET WITH MANAGER WHEN BACK IN TOWN. >JACOB ELLIS IN UNIT 1108 MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO STAY WITH FRIEND DOMINIC PHILLIPS AND ASKED IF HE COULD COME AND GO BECAUSE OF ELECTRIC BEING ON AND WATER TO BE TURNED ON FOLLOWING DAY. I ASKED HE USE HIS JUDGEMENT, TO TAKE SHOWER AT FRIENDS HOUSE AND USE THE RESTROOM ELSEWHERE IF NECESSARY. >UNIT 2113 PAKISTANI COUPLE INFORMED ME THEY MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO STAY WITH FAMILY, HAD NO PROBLEMS BUT ASKED IF THEY CULD BE BACK TOMORROW. >CONTACTED NIC BETTINI WHO STATED HE WOULD RETURN ON SATURDAY MORNING 7 AM AND COMPLETE THE WORK. ALL RESIDENTS WERE INFORMED. >BY 10 AM THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY MORNING, I HAD RECEIVED A CALL FROM NICK BETTINI STATING HE HAD COMPLETED INSTALLING THE SHUT OFF VALVE TO UNITS AND WATER IS RESTORED TO OTHER 3 UNITS AND THE VACANT UNIT WHERE WORK WAS STARTED AND COMPLETED. |
