02/02/2018 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | GOODMAN | Approved | VISITED SITE, CALLED OUT BY TPD WHO HAD WITNESSED A FIRE AND CONTACTED TFD. BEHIND THE DOLLAR STORE PEOPLE HAD PULLED TO GETHER PALLETS AND CARPETING AND STARTED IT ON FIRE. TFD PUT THE FIRE OUT AND CLEARED THE SCENE, TFD WANTED TO BE SURE BUILDING WAS OK AND CALLED FOR C/E INSPECTOR. FOUND REAR DOOR TO BE A SOLID METAL DOOR, WITH METAL FRAME I CONTINUED TO SEE SMOKE COMING FROM BEHIND THE DOOR JAMB, SHOT IT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER BUT JAMB CONTINUED TO SMOKE. CALLED TFD BACK OUT, THEY CHIPPED THE MORTAR OUT FROM BEHIND THE DOOR, FOUND PAPER BEHIND THE JAMB THAT WAS SMOLDERING. REMOVED ALL THE PAPER, SHOT THE AREA AGAIN WITH THE HOSE AND THAT TOOK CARE OF THE ISSUE. THERE WAS NO REAL BUILDING DAMAGE FROM THE FIRE. DOOR WAS STILL IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. THERE WAS SMOKE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE OF THE BLOCK ONLY. HAD EDWARD FROM FAMILY DOLLAR LOCK UP THE DOOR. NO NOV WAS ISSUED, AND FAMILY DOLLAR ALLOWED TO CONTINUE BUSINESS. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. |
