Arrived and all the units have cleared and the investigators were still on site. The fire was in the kitchen over the stove top. The fire burned the range hood and is a total lost. The cabinet that was over the hood has been damaged when removing the hood and checking for fire in the wall behind the range hood. The drywall has been smoked with some burning and has holes in the wall and ceiling over the hood area. The power was off at the main panel on the exterior at the breakers. The damaged wires were cut and wire nuts placed at the range hood and an outlet near the stove top on the back wall. The breakers were turned back on and all was working. The tenant has been in contact with the owner and signed the paper work. The tenant will be able to remain in the house but will be staying tonight in a hotel. The gas meter has been pinned and will remain off until repaired due to a gas leak in the rear yard. The owner will qualify for assistance by S.W.G. under a program to replace the gas line and move the meter next to the house. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
