08/05/2016 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | VIDAL | Approved | Received call from Martin Lopez that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and the units were checking for hot spots in the wall and checking the attic area for fire. The fire investigators were on site checking for cause. The fire was in the wall that seperates the kitchen area from the sitting area. One wood stud was burned and more on the heat side of the kitchen area. Drywall was removed to check for fire on the sitting side from about 3' from the floor to the ceiling. There was no other damage other than the smoke in the building. The insulation was pulled out from the wall to check for fire and the drywall was checked and sprayed with water due to the heat being registered with the heat sensor from T.F.D. Southwest Gas was on site and was having trouble with the line side and not holding pressure. They were checking areas for leaks and not able to find anything. Southwest Gas was advised to pin the meter and require a permit and clearance to have the gas turned back on. The electrical was off and there was no electrical near the fire area and the electrical was turned back on. The healt department was on site and was requesting a truck with a cooler to brought to the site if the power was not restored. But the electrical was turned back on by the owner of the property who is a general contractor. Due to the gas being turned off, the building was condemned until the gas can be repaired and turned back on once it's been inspected and given a clearance. Did do the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the side window. The owner of the property was on site and he signed all the paperwork. Did go over that the permit for the building is lacking finals when being built and remodled. The owner will check with the building offical to check of the lacking finals are required due to it was an existing building. Owner secured the property. Will check in 30 days. RV. |

The work was done under the existing permit of T15CM07107 and the inspection were done on 8-9-16 and 8-12-16. The permit is still lacking finals for when the building was remodeled. At this time the case will be closed due to the finals are for the building and not for the fire damaged area. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV. |
