07/05/2016 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received call from Rick Saldate the supervisor to respond to site for cooler not working and the toilet not working. Arrived and met with the tenant and the cooler was not cooling due to lacking water to the pads. The tenants were filling the cooler up with water and would only last 45 min. to an hour. The toilet had no water and they had stated that the pump was changed. The switch and the fuse were all working in the interior of the unit. Did find the smoke detector not working. Did find a broken window in the rear of the unit that has been broken trying to enter the unit. Did meet with the manager and she called someone to come and check the cooler and the toilet. Did run the shower and that did have water and than check the sink and it also had water. The person who came to check the cooler found where the water valve had been turned off to the unit for the cold side only but still had water on the hot side from the water heater which was connected to other units. Once the valve was turned back on the toilet was working and the cooler was getting water. A battery was placed in the smoke detector and is not working. The window is going to be replaced by the tenants due to they broke the window. At this time the tenant is happy with the correction and has no other complaints. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
