Arrived and the fire was still being checked for hot spots. The power was turned off to the buildinb and needed to check on what units could be turned back on. Did have management and the maintenance on site and was going through the units to check for damage and if the unit was OK to turn the power back on. The units that were checked and power turned back on are 4114, 4116, 4214, 4216, 4115, 4215, 4213, 4113, 3111, 3109, 3209, 3210, 3110. Did have an issues with the smoke detector not working in unit 3110 including the exhaust fan in the bathroom. They were addressed while on the property and were working. The fire was in the ceiling in the bathroom where an exhaust fan was located. The fire burned the wood framing in the ceiling area of the bathroom and going into the walls of the upstair units. There was damage to the upper units and they were condemned due to the damage of the fire. There was drywall that was removed to check for fire through in the walls and ceilings. The meter was pulled due to the damage to the wiring and the other damage from the fire. The management was placing the tenants in hotels at this time and will be getting other units on the property for placement. The units that were condemned were 3211 that was upstair on the oppsite side of the fire, 3212 was above the unit that had the fire and 3112 was the unit where the fire started. The fire was contained to the bathroom area in the ceiling area. Did do posting on the doors of "Do Not Enter". The manager signed all the paper work. Will check in 45 days. RV. |
