12/16/2015 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | GOODMAN | Approved | VISITED SITE, FIRST MET WITH TFD INSPECTOR NICOLE SPRENGER WHO WAS CALLED OUT CONCERNING THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. NICOLE WAS IN CONTACT WITH APT MANAGER KIM RICHMOND AND IN TURN BOTH IN CONTACT WITH CENTRAL ALARM ABOUT SENDING SOME ONE OUT TO RESET THE FIRE ALARM SYTEM. TFD FIRE FIGHTERS HAD PULLED WIRING IN THE ALARM SYSTEM BOX DUE TO ALARM RESETING ITSELF AND THEN GOING OFF AGAIN AND AGAIN. NICOLE SPRENGER WAS INFORMED BY CENTRAL ALARM THAT THEY COULD NOT GET OUT UNTIL EARLY MORNING THEREFORE TFD ISSUED PAPER WORK FOR A FIRE WATCH, AND THAT WAS SET UP BY MANAGER KIM RICHMOND AND MAINTANENCE JAMES (?) WHO WAS ALREADY ON SITE. INSPECTED UNIT 213, MET WITH OCCUPANT CHARLES GARRETT WHO INFORMED US HE HAD BEEN WASHING DISHES, HAD THE FAUCET RUNNING WHEN HE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL, TOOK THE CALL IN THE BACK BEDRROM AND FORGOT HE LEFT WATER RUNNING. HE WOKE TO TFD KNOCKING ON THE DOOR. MR GARRETT STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO MOP UP THE WATER IN THE KITCHEN BUT THERE WAS A VERY DAMP AREA IN THE HALLWAY/ LIVINGROOM APPROX 4FT BY 10 FT THAT NEEDED THE WATER EXTRACTED. MAINTANENCE PERSON JAMES HAD ALREADY CONTACTED COMPANY TO EXTRACT THE WATER. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON THE TENNANT COULD NOT STAY IN THE UNIT. CHECKED UNIT 113, OCCUPANT GINGER COLLINS ELDERLY HAD CONTACTED HER SON RIGHT AWAY WHO CAME AND HELPED PUCH WATER IN THE BATHROOM INTO THE FLOOR DRAIN FOR THE SHOWER AND ALSO REMOVED WATER FROM THE KITCHEN AREA. GINGER HAD THE SAME WET CARPET LOCATED IN THE SAME AREA AS ABOVE/ HALL CARPET / LIVING ROOM AND ABOUT 40 SQ FT. GINGER ALREADY MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO STAY WITH HER SON AND WOULD RETURN WHEN THE CARPET WAS DRY. LIGHT FIXTURE IN BATHROOM AND KITCHEN WERE BOTH HOLDING WATER, WAS REMOVED BY MAINTANENCE AND WILL NEED TO SIMPLY DRY OUT. NO NOV WAS ISSUED DUE TO MAINTANENCE PERSON JAMES CONTACTING THE WATER EXTRACTION PEOPLE TO DRY OU THE CARPETS. ** SPOKE WITH RICK SALDATE, INFORMED HIM OF THE SITUATION, RICK AGREED CODE ENFORCEMENT JOB WAS COMPLETE.
