Description:
I am on the mod rehab waiting list and was invited to go and see unit 217. The moment I walked inside the building I smelled a variety of odors, none pleasant and worst of it was the smell coming from the drugs being done in the units. Across the hallway from 217, there are more than the allotted people and there was a lot of smoke/ pot smell coming from that apartment. When I walked into 217 I was met with a foul smell due to the filthy conditions the unit is in. The toilet is filthy, the shower worse. The kitchen sink doesn't look as if it had ever been cleaned. This unit isn't ready for anyone to live in and the building itself looks terrible. The people in the building, the residents have nicer cars than their homes. I'm looking for a safe place to live and I felt anything but safe while there. I'm a small female without defensive training. Is this all that the city of Tucson can do for their people who have hit hard times? It's very sad and I could not live in that place. The carpets are filthy as well. And the painting? Something needs to be done with the whole building, even tearing it down would do it justice.
